HYSTEROSALPINGOGRAM (HSG)
The hydrosalpinogram uses a special dye to examine the inner cavity of the uterus and fallopian tubes (oviduct).
The method can be used to diagnose problems such as adhesions, polyps, fibroids, blocked tubes and uterine malformations.
The gynaecologist injerts a small amount of dye via the vagina that can be visualized similarly as an x-ray to show the shape of the uterus.
The procedure does not require anesthetic and after the examination is free to leave.
